MEET YOUR TEACHER

Hi! 

I'm Janet, a multi-published award-winning author and creative writing teacher with over 25 years of writing and publishing experience, and 7 years helping writers to publishing success through both courses and hands-on coaching.

I'm the author of 13 books for young readers, from picture book through YA novels, fiction and nonfiction. 

I've designed the Fox's Den Community as a haven for all kidlit writers, from beginners to advanced. Because sometimes one answer, one idea, or one encouraging conversation is exactly what you need to keep going.

Why join the Fox’s Den Community?

Writing advice is everywhere. Sometimes for free. Sometimes for a ton of money. But...is it for you?

The information available at the touch of a button or through a pricey program isn't always what you need.

Sometimes you wish you had someone to guide you. Sometimes you'd like to bounce ideas off a group. And sometimes you need to vent.

After years of coaching one-on-one, and then creating self-guided courses, I felt a need for something in between the two. 

Something personal but easy. Welcoming and inspiring. And very affordable.

So I created the Fox’s Den Community, because I believe every writer deserves a place where they can ask questions, learn, grow, and feel supported.

Years ago, I dreamed of seeing just one book with my name on the cover.

Since then, I’ve become the author of 13 published books, worked with publishers including Simon & Schuster and Penguin, won awards, reached readers around the world, and taught writers through SCBWI, schools, libraries, conferences, and workshops.

Now I'm opening this coworking space for you. With guidance from me. And with a community of like-minded writers.

FAQs

Will I feel comfortable in the Community?

My job as teacher and guide is to make sure that everyone is comfortable within the Den. I'll be checking in at all times.

How difficult will it be to access and participate?

Super easy! The Den is a place to post comments, questions, parts of your work. You can select a thread or join the general discussion.

What will it cost? What's my commitment?

There is a very, very small monthly fee to join. That's it. You can leave at any time.

How much personal feedback will I get from Janet?

While this is not one-on-one coaching, I will be available to answer questions, and to read short pieces of work. And you'll be able to access the brain trust of fellow Den members, too.

If I'm a total beginner, is this for me?

This Community is for anyone! Beginner, intermediate, or advanced - all are welcome. All will benefit.
